When I first got this to try many memories of bar hopping and college came back to mind just from the word schnapps. But as I have gotten older, and maybe a little smarter as to know when to say when, schnapps can be a delightful addition to many cocktails and can be enjoyed on their own. Aromas of intense sweet black cherries flow out of the glass before it even hits the nose. The flavors are very concentrated with layers of cherry pie notes and a subtle creaminess. Not overpowering in the mouth the flavor lingers perfectly, letting the cherry notes dissipate slowly, there is no burn from the alcohol in this flavorful treasure, just terrific fruit notes. It would be great on the rocks or mixed with anything from soda to cola, you could even make a cherry daiquiri with it.
