This winery is owned by NASCAR owner and legend Richard Childress. Many people turn their nose up at fruit wines but this one will change your mind. As soon as you pull the cork you can smell the blueberries without taking the first sip, aromas of fresh baked pie with dough like nose. There is also an earthiness in the nose, the sweetness dissipates and leaves just fresh dark fruit aromas. The taste is not overly sweet, some dryness but the wine is not sugar sweet but fruit sweet like fresh blueberries with some creaminess. The fruit hangs nicely in the mouth, not what you would expect in a fruit wine but more like a ruby port with allot more blueberry flavor notes.
