Kendall-Jackson has done it again, creating a rich and full bodied Zinfandel at an affordable price. Layers of raspberries and jammy strawberry flavors are all balanced perfectly with just the right amount of oak and spice. This is a great example of Zinfandel at its best. In addition to Zinfandel the winemaker has blended in about 13% Syrah to add a fresh berry flavors and soften the tannins sometimes associated with this grape. An excellent wine, at a very fair price.

We enjoyed a bottle of this great wine with some BBQ ribs, that’s right a wine that will work with BBQ and allow the flavors of the sauce and wine to shine through. The sweetness of the fruit and spiciness of the wine tamed the sauce with ease. Another great menu idea is blackened fish with a seafood cream sauce. The heat of the seasoning and the creaminess of the sauce will allow all the aspects of flavor in the wine to work well.
